Hello South Pas Active friends,
Thanks for your interest and support of South Pas Active Streets. Our mission is to build community and sustainability by advocating for a walkable and bikeable city. We email occasionally to highlight fun events or opportunities for advocacy.
Tomorrow, Sunday, February 11
Work off those Superbowl party calories in advance, with a morning ride! South Pas Active is partnering with Safe Streets for SGV for an Alhambra/South Pas friendship ride. We share a goal of asking our cities to invest more in safer, sustainable street designs. The ride starts at 9:30am at Alhambra city hall and will take a stop at South Pasadena city hall (weather forecast looks beautiful!). Details at https://www.instagram.com/p/C20_VZrL3dd/ and the planned route is at https://www.strava.com/routes/3187662744169061074.

Mark your calendars to support Slow Streets in South Pasadena. We anticipate that this is the day our city council will make a decision on whether or not to endorse the residential Slow Street pilot program. Thanks to your support, the transportation commission (MTIC) unanimously endorsed the plan to continue using these street safety features and keep the bike lane on Grand Ave. However, we know there are some influential voices opposed to these features, so we need to speak up if we want them.
The council meeting is the culmination of the "Save Our Slow Streets" campaign and we will present the results of our petition. If you have not yet done so, please sign it! We will send another email when the agenda is finalized.
Budget survey
The city circulated a link to a survey to request input to the city's budget priorities. We hope that when you fill it out, you include "Safer street designs for pedestrians and cyclists" as a priority for new investments.
Saturday, March 16
We are proud to be partnering with South Pasadena Beautiful and The South Pasadena Nature Park for a free, family-friendly ride, nature time, and picnic. To help us plan, please fill out the RSVP if you will attend.
